Although it is the most complex RC model, RC helicopters are by far the most popular RC model in the market today for serious hobbyists and beginners alike. Understanding how RC helicopters work is important if you want to better appreciate all its features and capabilities aside from the fact that it can certainly provide a lot of fun and excitement every time you try to fly it in the open field along with other RC helicopter aficionados.

Ideal for beginners is the electric RC helicopter because it is much simpler to operate and is also less expensive than other more advanced RC helicopter models. Operating an electric RC helicopter is just the same as any helicopter models and they are actually a lot easier especially for novice pilots.

An RC helicopters flight capability is being provided by its rotor blades. It is the one responsible for providing a lifting force to elevate it from the ground and with the help of the tail rotor; the RC is prevented from spinning on its own because of the rotary motion made by its main rotor blade. By applying a little throttle force, the RC helicopter will now be lifted from the ground on a straight direction instead of spinning uncontrollably.

A major component in all RC models is the radio controller which is responsible for transmitting the signal from the ground enabling the RC helicopter to perform the way you want it to. There are several types of radio controller depending on its channels. RC helicopters for kids come in 2 channels and for novice pilot; it is safer to start on 3 channeled radio controllers before opting for higher channels.

For better maneuverability, choosing a single rotor RC helicopter is an ideal option but if you are looking for more stability and better control, coaxial RC helicopter is the most recommended for novice pilots.
